hey everyone, i’ll start off with a short background. my names terra. im 19. i do a lot of painting and drawing. i work in a lot of mediums, such as acrylic, oil pastel, graphite, spray paint.. and i do mostly realist-type art, such as portraits, still lifes, landscapes, ect but my favorite subject is people. i love capturing the emotion and character in someones face.
now my current situation..
ive done some commissioned work, and started marketing myself a little.. (handing out business cards, creating a facebook page for my art, ect) but ive been talking to my sister who went to school for graphic design about expanding ...>> The Post Continues Here! <<-

My father has been a plumber in the union in IL for about 20 years now. Things are slow at his job and he has been thinking about going “on his own.” He has been doing side jobs locally just on a “I know a guy” basis for a really long time. If we decide to push his side work–as in making business cards, putting up a website, getting a bank account, and all that fun stuff, would we have to do anything different? Right now he usually gets paid by check and we do count add that into our income when it comes to tax time, but I don’t know if it’s technically legal.
