The answer you are looking for is search engine optimization. This is optimizing everything in your website to show up in search results better. The first thing you’ll want to do is submit your site to the search engines so they can crawl and index your site. If they haven’t seen it yet, it will never show up.
Next you want to determine what keywords you want to rank for. Example, if you want to show up in search results for dog training. You’ll want those words in the title of the post, in the url of the post and several other times throughout the post. You want to have it bold in a couple places and underlined in others. Sometimes you’ll want it in h1,h2 and h3 size text. All of these help rank higher.
The next part is getting backlinks using those keywords. if you use the code dog training now the words dog training are linked to your site. You get that posted on as many sites as you can via link exchanges, artile marketing, guest posting, forum signatures, etc and your site will rise in search results for those terms.

The first thing you’re going to want to do is make sure you’re running the right plugins on your wordpress blog. Ultimate SEO or All in One SEO will do the trick for you. I personally like Ultimate simply because it has more options.
Anyway, there is no way to guarantee that you’ll pop up on the first page of Google for any particular search result but you can take certain actions to move further up.
1. Link building – Trade links with other websites, submit to social bookmarking sites, post comments on other people’s sites, etc
2. Use SEO plugins to improve your on page SEO
3. Guest blog, write content that people will find either really helpful or off the wall and will feel the need to link to it.
