I know the president also did this.
Is is that hard to understand that BP is a MULTI-NATIONAL corporation now. It merged with Amoco in 2000.
Are Democrats ignorant or do they just not care??

Why does this matter? You are splitting hairs. It is a United Kingdom based company (see: your own source). Its like getting worked up over KFC vs Kentucky Fried Chicken. Are you a trademark attorney or something?
Speaking of globalization though, do you think it occurred to the attendees of the RNC “drill baby drill” convention that increased domestic oil output does nothing to reduce dependence since the oil is just sold on the open market, and is still a tiny fraction of said market next to OPEC? Palin probably thinks we keep the stuff in a big barrel in the back yard or something (say, Iowa).

America will always apportion the blame at someone else, even when it shares the wrong done by this multi-national company.

British Petroleum changed to BP when the word petroleum became politically toxic.
Look at thier logo, check their ads from few month ago.

Who cares whether the company is American, German, or Chinese?
Who cares whether people called it Better petroleum, beyond petroleum, british petroleum whatever. The point is that the deregulation of this industry has meant that bp’s oil well was built in an unsafe way/at an unsafe site etc.
They are responsible for this catastrophe, as is the US government.
