Question by : Should government be run “like a business”?
A business which which looks to pay the lowest possible wages, lowest possible benefits, allow for the majority of wealth that is created by the workers, to transfer up to the very top. Elimination of tariff’s, externalize losses, eliminate environmental reg’s….
Or should government be set up to work in the best interests of the majority of Americans (aka “We The People”)…. By promoting policy’s that keep wages moving upward with inflation, to provide a strong social safety net (SS, Medicare, etc), promote policy’s that keep jobs in America (through tariff’s for example), as it had been prior to Reagan starting the process of “getting government out of the way” so that the wealthy could run the show here?

the GOP clearly thinks so… just look at Cain and Ryan’s plan… no profit in keeping old people alive…
No,,,,,The government does not need to run exactly like a business, but it must be cut down to a manageable size, become way more efficient, stop wasting tax payer dollars and pandering to public employee labor unions.
Because we all know everyone getting a government paycheck votes for democrats, and big labor union gives big money to the democrat party.

Public Servents are now Government Royality
.
.
Government should be out of people’s lives all together and returned to how it was intended to be ran.
The best of both worlds would be possible if we weren’t run by rich incompetant jackhats on both sides of the aisle.
Business owns the government – the people are either “consumers” or an inconvenience.
“The great object should be to combat the evil: 1. By establishing a political equality among all; 2. By witholding unnecessary opportunities from a few to increase the inequality of property by an immoderate, and especially an unmerited, accumulation of riches; 3. By the silent operation of laws which, without violating the rights of property, reduce extreme wealth towards a state of mediocrity and raise extreme indigence towards a state of comfort; 4. By abstaining from measures which operate differently on different interests, and particularly such as favor one interest at the expense of another… If this is not the language of reason, it is that of republicanism.”
– James Madison; from ‘Parties’ (1792)
